After logging in with your phone number and completing verification, Alipay should automatically appear in English once you’ve selected your country/region. If it doesn’t, here are the steps:

→ Tap Account (bottom of the screen)
→ Tap Settings (top-right corner)
→ Select General (just below Privacy)
→ Tap Language (second option from the top)
→ Choose English (US) or English (UK)

If any screens still appear in Chinese, you can use your iPhone’s screenshot and translate feature (or Google Lens on Android) to navigate the menus.

I also recommend setting everything up at home before your trip so you don’t have to worry about it once you arrive in China.
